2026 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Proof Coin

First issued in 1988, the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf remains one of the most widely recognized silver bullion coins available today. It followed the earlier release of the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, which made its debut in 1979, and holds the distinction of being the first silver bullion coin from a major industrialized country to feature a .9999 fine silver composition.

Sugar maple leaves display remarkable consistency in their basic five-lobed structure, though individual leaves can vary significantly in size, ranging from 3 to 6 inches across.

The obverse design of the 2026 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf features a portrait of King Charles III. Introduced by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2024, this depiction shows the King in left-profile relief, notably without a crown. The design was created by artist Steven Rosati specifically for the Royal Canadian Mint.

On the reverse side of 2026 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf Coins, collectors will find the classic sugar maple leaf. This design has been a hallmark of the series since it was introduced in 1979 by Walter Ott for the Gold Maple Leaf. It continues to serve as the standard image across the Mint’s silver, platinum, and palladium Maple Leaf bullion coins.
